Kapi'olani Behavioral Health Services

At Kapi‘olani Medical Center, we’re concerned about the total health care needs of you as a patient. In addition to your physical health, we recognize that your mental and emotional state can also enhance or hinder your treatment and recovery.

When everyday challenges are heightened by a personal illness or an illness in the family, you can experience significant anxiety, depression, or other difficulties. Kapi‘olani’s Behavioral Health Service (KBHS) can assist you and your families in managing these concerns.

KBHS provides services designed to meet the behavioral health needs of patients who are being treated in the hospital or follow-up care for women and children who are being seen in our outpatient pediatric or OB/GYN clinics. We provide on-site psychiatric and psychological services for our patients, wherever they are needed in the medical center. KBHS is also a training site for the University of Hawaii School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry.
